On ne choisit pas sa famille, mais la mienne était musicienne. Une chance. Pourtant, et malgré quelques tentatives éphémères sur divers instruments dès mon plus jeune âge, ce n’est qu’à quatorze ans que j’empoigne la guitare. Je ne la reposerai plus jamais.
Après cinq années de beaux projets en groupe, je décide de me déraciner en m’expatriant sur différents continents. Lorsque la guitare ne s’y prête pas, ce sont les molettes de l’appareil photo qui roulent sous mes doigts. Il arrive même parfois que l’image se mette à danser quelques minutes sur un projet personnel, à la fin d’un voyage.
Et puis, pour compléter le tout, il y a tout ces mots qui se bousculent dans ma tête et qui, de temps à autre, s’harmonisent sur le papier ou sur le clavier à l’occasion d’un poème, d’une chanson, d’un essai ou d’un coup de gueule.
Mais après ces formidables années de voyage, ce sera finalement mon premier amour qui me rappellera, me poussant à me reconcentrer assidument sur mes six cordes en acier, et à développer un projet solo dont la jovialité émerge du fingerpicking même, que je vous invite à découvrir maintenant à travers mon premier album et mes réarrangements personnels.

Perfectionnant sa guitare au cours des vingt dernières années avec des notes de folk, de jazz et de bluegrass, son fingerpicking donne l’impression que la basse, la guitare rythmique et la voix se sont donné rendez-vous sur un seul et même instrument.
Ses compositions mélodiques créent d’inoubliables événements, invitant le public à plonger dans son univers musical et à redécouvrir certains classiques à travers ses réarrangement personnels. Ses concerts intimistes sont une occasion de partager ses histoires et ses compositions pendant que ses doigts dansent sur les cordes.
🇬🇧 Hervé Amiot is a guitarist and composer from a tiny town in France and one of the leading lights of a fingerpicking technique brought to the country by the late Marcel Dadi. Mastering the guitar over the past twenty years and influenced by notes of folk, jazz, and bluegrass, his fingerpicking means he plays the melody, bass and chords at once, creating the effect of multiple instruments playing together.
His melodic compositions create mesmerizing events making even large audiences feel like they have slipped inside his musical universe. With an EP and emotive premier solo album released, Hervé continues to affirm his position as a defining voice in intricate acoustic folk guitar.

You can't choose your family but mine was musical. I got lucky. Yet despite a few fleeting attempts on various instruments, it wasn't until I was fourteen that I picked up the guitar. I'll never put it down again.
After five years of wonderful group projects, I decided to travel and work across different continents. When the guitar isn’t available, my fingers play with the camera instead. Occasionally, the image even dances for a few minutes on a video project at the end of a trip.
And then, to complete the picture, there are all the words jostling about in my head which, from time to time, tumbled down onto paper or on the keyboard in the form of a poem, song, essay or rant.
But after these years of travelling, it was ultimately my first love that called me back, urging me to refocus on my six steel strings, and to develop a solo project where the joy emerges from the fingerpicking itself. With accents of fingerpicking and folk, I invite you to discover this through my debut album and my personal rearrangements.
